Framingham Cosmetic Dentists

Cosmetic dentistry can transform your smile and improve your confidence! If you’re looking for a more radiant, attractive smile, we can help you get the look you want to look your best and smile more often!

At Metrowest Prosthodontics, we specialize in dental treatments with an eye for aesthetics. While we focus on maintaining your great oral health and the full function of your teeth, we never under-estimate the value of a beautiful smile for our patients.

Many of the dental treatments we offer benefit both the appearance and the health of your teeth. Crowns and veneers can restore the structural integrity of a damaged tooth, while also improving it aesthetically. When alignment is corrected with Invisalign, it can create an improved bite. Even teeth whitening can lead to better oral health when you’re proud of your smile and eager to maintain the bright results.

Invisalign® offers a modern approach to straightening teeth, using a custom-made series of aligners created specially for you and only you. Made of smooth, comfortable and virtually invisible plastic, these aligner trays are worn over your teeth, to gradually and gently shift your teeth into place, based on the exact movements your dentist or orthodontist plans for you. There are no metal brackets to attach and no wires to tighten. You just pop in a new set of aligners approximately every two weeks, until your treatment is complete.

Unlike traditional braces, Invisalign aligners are removable when you eat, and easy to keep clean while maintaining your own, regular oral hygiene. So, you’ll achieve a great smile with little interference in your daily life. And, the best part of all? Most people won’t even know that you’re straightening your teeth!

Porcelain veneers are thin pieces of porcelain that effectively recreate the natural look of teeth. To place a veneer, a very small amount of the original tooth enamel must be removed.

Afterwards, an adhesive layer is placed between the prepared tooth and the veneer. The adhesive is hardened with the use of a specialized curing light, for a fast, long-lasting beautiful new look.

Whitening, or bleaching, is used to brighten teeth. Our convenient at-home bleaching includes taking an impression of your teeth to make a customized mouth guard. The mouthguard holds the whitening gel, containing carbide peroxide, against your teeth. Once the mouth guard is made, you’ll wear it for a period of time, as instructed by our dental team. The amount of time worn may vary from a couple hours a day, or all night, for up to four weeks – or longer, if desired.

This technique can minimize or eliminate stains, yellowing or spots by removing a very thin layer of the tooth’s enamel.

Frequently Asked Questions About Cosmetic Dentistry

Why should I use professional teeth whitening instead of an over-the-counter product?

Professional teeth whitening works more quickly and more effectively than over-the-counter products do. OTC whitening products may also cause irritation to the teeth and gums, or possibly degrade tooth enamel over time.

Are veneers long-lasting?

Yes, veneers are long lasting and resistant to stains. Durable and attractive, they can disguise cracks, chips, discoloration, and correct gaps in teeth easily and effectively.

I’m an adult – am I too old to use Invisalign to straighten my teeth?

Invisalign is an unobtrusive, discreet, and comfortable solution to straighten the teeth of patients of any age. Unless you have a specific type of straightening need requiring traditional metal or ceramic braces, Invisalign is a simple and effective solution that works well by exerting a slow pressure on your teeth through a series of custom clear plastic aligners.
